This tutorial was written using PSP 9, but can be done in other versions
~ You will need ~
Paint Shop Pro, a 30 day trial can be downloaded here
My supplies here. The zip includes the tubes, image and font
Double click to open the font "Satisfaction" and minimize it on your desktop
Double click to open the font "Scrap Cursive" and minimize it on your desktop
Open the tubes and image in PSP and minimize them all
Maximize light.jpg
This will be our working area
Layers, Promote Background Layer
Change the Opacity to 58
Set the Blend to Luminance (Legacy)
Layers, New Raster Layer
Layers, Arrange, Send to Bottom
Fill this layer with Black
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Copy rw-foamandsurf~misted.pspimage and paste as new layer
Move it down into the bottom right corner
Change the Opacity to 64
Set the Blend to Luminance (Legacy)
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Layers, New Raster Layer
Activate Selection Tool and use Custom Selection with the following settings:
Fill the selection with Black
Selections, Modify, Contract 3
Fill the selection with #C0C0C0
Layers, New Raster Layer
Copy rw-foamandsurf~mistedblackandwhite.pspimage and paste into selection
Change the Opacity of this layer to 68
Layers, New Raster Layer
Copy Yoka_Mistedlady-10-11-05Pale.pspimage and paste into selection
Selections, Select None
Layers, Duplicate
Layers, Merge Down
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the following settings:
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Maximize text.pspimage
Copy "Waves of" layer and paste as new layer
Move it up in the top left corner
(Look at my image for placement)
Copy "Sea Shining Sea" layer and paste as new layer
Move it down and slightly to the left so its against the bottom left side of the frame (Look at my image for placement)
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Set foreground to NULL
Set background to #808080
Activate text tool and use the following settings:
Type Dream
Layers, Convert to Raster Layer
Move Dream just under Waves Of (Look at my image for placement)
Change the Opacity of this layer to 52
Set foreground to NULL
Set background to Black
Activate text tool once again and use the following settings:
Type Dream
Layers, Convert to Raster Layer
Move it on top of Dream (grey one) we just wrote (Look at my image for placement)
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Copy bow.pspimage and paste as new layer
Change the Blend for this layer to Luminance (Legacy)
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the following settings:
Repeat Drop Shadow and use the following settings:
Move the bow in the top right corner (Look at my image for placement)
Copy key.pspimage and paste as new layer
Move it into the top right corner so it looks like its hanging from the bow
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the following settings:
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Copy stiches.pspimage and paste as new layer
Move the stiches on top of the frame so it looks like the stiches are holding it
Layers, Duplicate
Image, Flip
Move the stiches on the right side of the frame
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Set foreground to NULL
Set background to #808080
Activate text tool and use the following settings:
Type your name
Layers, Convert to Raster Layer
Position it under the lighthouse
Change the Opacity of this layer to 52
Set foreground to NULL
Set background to Black
Activate text tool once again and use the following settings:
Type your name again
Layers, Convert to Raster Layer
Move it on top of the grey one we just wrote
Layers, Merge, Merge All (Flatten)
Image, Add Borders, 5 pixels using Black color
Save your work as jpg
