you will need:


PSP

This zip file containing the flower selections. Unzip the file and save in your PSP Selections folder. If you do not have a Selections folder, make one now.

Patterns or textures of your choice. I have zipped some that you are welcome to use. They can be unzipped to any folder and opened in psp.

Country Flower

This tutorial was written using PSP7, but can probably be done in earlier versions with a few adjustments.

** Remember to save your work often! **

1. Open a transparent image 450 x 400.  Set your foreground to Black and your background to Texture .

2. Add a new Raster Layer (all layers will be Raster layers).  You don't have to worry about naming the layers unless you just want to.  Load the "jd-leaf1" selection (Selections - Load from Disk).  Flood fill with Black.  Go to Selections - Modify - Contract by 2.  Select a pattern of your choice and fill the selection.  Keep selected.

3. Go to Selections - Float.  Go to Effects - 3D Effects - Cutout and use these settings:

Color Black
Opacity 45
Blur 15
Horizontal and Vertical 2.

4. Selections - Select None.  Go to Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow and use these settings:

Color Black
Opacity 50
Blur 5
Vertical and Horizontal 0.

5. Add a new layer.  Load the "jd-leaf2" selection.  Repeat steps 2 through 4 using a different pattern.

6. Add a new layer.  Load the "jd-petal1" selection.  Repeat steps 2 through 4.  Continue until you have all 4 petals.

7. Add a new layer.  Load the "jd-center" selection.  Repeat steps 2 through 4.

8. Add a new layer.  Load the "jd-stitching" selection.  Flood fill with Black.  Selections - Select None.

9. Layers - Merge - Merge Visible.  Your flower is ready to tube (File - Export - Picture Tube).

This can also be done using solid colors and textures.
