This frame tutorial was made with PSP7
but can be created in earlier versions too ... Earlier versions may not have
the Fine Leather & Edge Effects but the frame tutorial can be
accomplished without it.

Here is an example of the frame that we will be making ...
~ What You Will Need ~
Jasc Paint Shop Pro You can download a fully functional 30
day trial version ... Here
Image, Gold Pattern Fill & Mask... You can download all
the supplies ... Here Unzip
and then open in PSP
~ Instructions ~
1. Set Foreground color to a dark color from your image ... I
used #575888 Set Background color to White ... #FFFFFF
2. On your main image go to Layers / New Raster Layer Flood
Fill....with
your dark color Masks / New / From Image & then browse for Frame018Mask
with the following settings:
3. Masks / Delete When it asks "Would you like this mask
merged into the current layer?" ... Answer yes Effects / Sharpen /
Sharpen Effects / 3D Effects / Drop Shadow with the following settings:
4. Click on the Selection Tool .. .. and then open up your Tool Options Window .. ..
Choose Selection Type: Ellipse / Feather: 0 / Antialias: Checked
5. Find the exact center of your image ... refer to the numbers
in the lower left hand corner of your status bar ... On this image center is
.... Left
click & hold down while dragging your cursor till you reach .... then let go
6. Hit the Delete key on your keyboard Selections / Modify /
Expand / 3 Layers / New Raster Layer Set your Foreground Styles box to
Pattern / Gold Pattern Fill with the following settings:
7. Flood Fill....inside
the selection with the Gold Pattern Fill Selections / Modify / Contract /
3 Now hit the Delete key on your keyboard again
8. Layers / New Raster Layer Effects / 3D Effects / Cutout
with the following settings:
9. Selections / Select None Open up your Layer Palette....and
lower the opacity on Layer 1 to around 70
10. Layers / Merge / Merge All (Flatten) Image / Add Borders
/ Symmetric Checked / 3 With the Magic Wand.. ..click on the new border Flood Fill....with the Gold Pattern Fill Selections / Invert Effects
/ 3D Effects / Cutout with the same settings as in Step #8
11. Reverse Foreground & Background colors Image / Add
Borders / Symmetric Checked / 20 (This border should be your dark
color) With the Magic Wand.. ..click
on the new border Effects / Texture Effects / Fine Leather with the following
settings:
12. Effects / Edge / Enhance Effects / Texture Effects / Fine
Leather with the same settings as in Step #11 Effects / 3D Effects / Inner
Bevel with the following settings:
13. Reverse Foreground & Background colors again Image /
Add Borders / Symmetric Checked / 3 (This border should be white) With the
Magic Wand.. ..click
on the new border Flood Fill....with the
Gold Pattern Fill Selections / Select None
Resize image and sharpen if necessary
